  • The Rotaract Annual District Conference (Spectrum) was held at Vidhyodhya grounds, near Valluvar Kottam, Chennai during 16-17 February 2002. During this conference, the " Best Staff Advisor Award for the year 2001-2002 in the R.I.district 3230" was given to Mr.A.Bhaskaran, Staff Advisor, Rotaract Club of SVCE. This award is given to him for making the Rotaract club of SVCE as the parent club for the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) started at Meppur village. In the same conference, Mr.D.N.Vetrivel, President of the Rotaract Club of SVCE also selected as Best President of the club in the District 3230.

  • The Website for "VOX QUALDUM 2001 - 2002", the intra culturals conducted by SVCE was designed by Arun Kumar A.S and Kaushik S of III Year Information Technology. This site www.svce.ac.in/~voxqualdum provides information about the various events that make up VOX QUALDUM and is used for on-line registration.

  • Our College students were participated in the INTER COLLEGE CULTURALS ECKLIPS 2001 conducted by Madras School of Management Science, Affiliated to London School of Commerce. Over all Championship awarded to Our College.

  • Hariharan claimed four wickets for 20 as SVCE beat RMK Engineering College by seven wickets in the Dr. MGR Memorial Cricket Tournament 2002 at the MCC grounds, Tambaram.

    Brief scores: RMK 162/7 in 30 overs (V Kiran 25, G Anand Kumar 25, V Hariharan 4 for 20) lost to SVCE 163/3 in 24.4 overs (KC Dilip Sarathy 77, R Sainath 50)

  • Padmavati S, Third year B.Tech. Information Technology secured the First place in the Veena competition held at Anna University on 1st January 2002 as part of the Cultural Festival conducted from 22nd December 2001 to 2nd January 2002.

  • Manjush Jacob, First Year B.E. (ECE) won the second prize in oratorical competition held by St.John's Ambulance Association, Chennai.

  • A. BHASKARAN Senior Lecturers have Chaired a session in the "International Congress of Chemistry and Enviornment", held at INDORE during 16-18 December 2001 and presented a Paper on, " Status of Ambient air quality in Chennai Metropolitan city during 1998 - 2000 ".

  • Prof. R.Ramachandran HOD,IT who successfully defended his PhD thesis on 17-Apr-2001 at Anna University and completed his PhD.

    Topic of his thesis is "Some Performance Aspects and implementation Considerations of Artificial Neural Networks". We are happy to state that he is the first to complete the PhD program among the faculty sponsored by the College. So far we have sponsored 17 Staff Members.
