PROFILE

The Department of Automobile Engineering was started in the year 1999 with sanctioned intake of 30. The intake was increased from 30 to 60 in the year 2009.The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty and staff members of proven ability and administrative skills. It has well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories that cater to the needs of the students. The department is actively engaged in teaching and research in the areas of Automobile Engineering and related areas. The department is accredited for three years in the year of 2011 by National Board of Accreditation.

To be a leader in higher technical education and research in the field of Automobile Engineering by providing state of art facilities to transform the learners into global contributors and achievers.


Mission
To develop the department of Automobile Engineering into a “Centre of excellence” offering education to men and women at undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral degree level, bringing out their total personality, emphasizing ethical values and preparing them to meet the growing challenges of the Automotive Industry and diverse societal needs of our nation.

 

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

To provide students with a foundation in mathematics to improve their thinking and analytical skills for solving automobile engineering problems

To make the student to understand the constructional details and working of major automobile components and system.

To familiarize the students to understand the design and modeling of automotive engine components.

To prepare the students to understand the design and modeling of automotive chassis components

To create productive leaders by inculcating professional & ethical attitude, teamwork, entrepreneurial skills and effective communication skills

To impart the technical knowledge, in the minds of students in the field of automobile engineering, they are prepared to develop new system, design and fabricate a vehicle which can suit the requirements of all- terrain

Ability to design and conduct experiments, interpret and analyze data and report results

Ability to design an automotive system or a process that meets desired specifications and requirements.

Ability to function on engineering and science laboratory teams, as well as on multidisciplinary design teams.

Familiar with modern engineering software tools and equipment to analyze automobile engineering problems
