STUDENT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

Students are trained in the following laboratories to enhance their practical skills.

  • Fluid Mechanics
  • Heat Transfer
  • Mechanical Operations
  • Mass Transfer
  • Chemical Reaction Engineering
  • Physical Chemistry
  • Fundamentals of Computing
  • Technical & Instrumental Analysis
  • Workshop
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Process Dynamics & Control
  • Computer Aided Process Equipment Design
  • Process Modeling and Simulation
  • Instrumental Methods of Analysis

In the last semester they study two electives and complete one project. The electives offered at present are :

  • Safety in Chemical Process Industries
  • Process Modeling and Simulation
  • Bio Chemical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Petroleum Technology
  • Industrial Management
  • Computer Applications for Chemical Engineers

The project work is basically a design and/or R&D oriented involving Material and Energy balance calculation, sizing and design of reactor, separation equipment and heat exchange equipment. All the projects are industry related. The students are encouraged to complete the project in an industry.
With the facilities available in the laboratories, industry specific consultancy work can be carried out.
