AUGUST 2017


Research Careers


On the 31st of August 2017, Association of Information Technology(AIT) & Association of Computer Engineers(ACE) jointly organized a guest lecture on "Research careers" byDr.Karthik Pattabiraman. He was introduced by Dr.V.Vidhya, HOD i/c/IT. Dr. Karthik Pattabiraman is currently employed as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Columbia.


AIT President Ms. Hindhumathy delivered the welcome address. Dr V.Vidhya, HOD i/c/IT introduced the chief guest. He is an alumini of SVCE in the department of Information Technology. She insisted the students of IT and CS department to take the chief guest as an inspiration and pursue their career in research .


Guest of honour started the lecture with the introduction of Research career. He spoke in detail about the pros and cons of pursuing research. He also clarified about the various myths and facts about the research. He made the session interactive by answering the students who came up with doubts.


Ms.E.Rajalaksmi AP/CS, coordinator of ACE, delivered the vote of thanks. The session came to an end with the presenting of memento to the chief guest by Dr.B.Thilaka,Professor/AM .


After the session, the students of III year & IV year IT had a one to one interaction with our alumnus in the IT conference hall.





AUGUST 2017


Firmware and its Concepts


On the 7th of August 2017, Mr.Venkataraman K delivered a lecture on "Firmware and its Concepts". He was introduced by Ms. Sahana Nagarajan, III year. Mr. Venkataraman is employed at the Microchip as Engineer 2. He is an expert in data structures and state machines, operating systems and computer networks. He has 4 years of work experience with Microchip Technology, heading many projects and analysing his responsibilities in the right manner to improve himself and the company as a whole.


The Head of the Department addressed the gathering and gave a short note on firm ware with real time examples. She then motivated the students to gain knowledge from the young and energetic speaker Mr. Venkataraman.


Guest of honour started the lecture with the introduction of Firmware and its working principles with real time examples. He explained about the coding part on embedded C. He gave a brief note on scheduling algorithms. He ended the session with a question and answer session.

JULY 2017


Internet of Things


On the 17thof July 2017, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) was inaugurated by Mr. Sudharshan Srinivasan, R & D specialist, Nokia network, Finland.


He delivered a lecture on "Internet Of Things". He was introduced by AIT President Ms. M.Hindhumathi. Mr. Sudharshan is employed at the Nokia network’s SoC team as a R & D Specialist, specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) creation for 5G wireless systems. He is a leading data analyst and IOT professional. He is an expert in IOT and Data Analytics Trainer, worked with NOKIA, Qualcomm, and Microsoft in key positions.


The Head of the Department motivated the students to actively take part in the activities of AIT and engage the inner spark in them. She also said that both students as well as faculty members will be benefited from the activities of AIT. The lamp was lit by the chief guest and the introduction of office bearers was given by Ms.K.Kiruthika Devi, AIT coordinator.


The session lasted for about two hours. Guest of honour started the lecture with the introduction of IOT, architecture and standards. He gave a brief note on IOT hardware and software platforms. He also explained about the IOT communication and discussed few case studies on Data analytics.

APRIL 2017


Transforming Data into Actionable Insights


On the 3rd of April 2017, Ms Anuradha Nagarajan delivered a lecture on "Transforming Data into Actionable Insights". She was introduced by Ms R.Hemavathy of III year IT, AIT member. Ms. Anuradha is a Group Project Manager in Infosys, Chennai. She is also a certified Health Care Professional.


The Head of the Department motivated the students by giving them a brief introduction about how Data Analytics is important in real time analysis. She also encouraged the students to think optimistically about the topic and presented the annual report. The session lasted for about an hour. Resource person started the lecture with an introduction about Data Analytics in Business Intelligence. She then explained the concepts of Data Analytics and its use. She explained the insights which could be included in a real time scenario and actions taken by working with the insights. The students got an insight on the importance of Data Analytics. Ms Anuradha spoke widely about data analytics in business relating to the real corporate world. She had various exuberant examples of the real time use of data analytics. A group activity was conducted where all the students participated actively getting the real meaning on how data analytics can be used in a real time activity. This session was followed by the main agenda of the event by distributing the certificates of appreciation to the Office Bearers.

Importance of Coding


On the 30th of March 2017, Mr Arun Nachiappan delivered a lecture on “Importance of Coding”. Arun was introduced by Hemavathy of III year IT, AIT member. Arun is currently working in Zoho Corporations, located in Chennai. He is an alumnus of our college.


The Head of the Department motivated the students by giving them a brief introduction about importance of coding. The session lasted for about an hour. Resource person started the lecture with the definition of engineering, What Engineers do? and quality of engineers. He then explained the concepts of problem solving, identifying problems, solving problems and programming .The lecture ended with a question and answer session. The students got an insight on the importance of coding. Followed by the guest lecture a coding event was conducted for the first year students on 31.03.2017.

Overview of Business Analytics and Its opportunities in the Market


On the 07th of March 2017, Mr Paul Arun and Mr Ramesh Babu delivered a lecture on "Overview of Business Analytics & Its opportunities in the Market". Mr Paul Arun & Mr Ramesh Babu was introduced by Hemavathy of III year IT, AIT treasurer. Mr Paul Arun is a CEO of KUDWI a Business Analytics Consulting and a training company. He has more than 16 years of experience in Business Development and strategy. Mr Paul Arun trains and mentor’s students in the Business analytics, Machine Learning and IOT domain . Mr Ramesh Babu is a Data Scientist , IOT professional. Mr Ramesh babu has over 12 years of experience in IT industry (CTS) spanning different functions like Analytics Marketing, Customer Analytics, Time series Modeling, Market research, Statistical validations, Market basket analysis, Sales Strategy and Operations, Program Management and Business development.


The Head of the Department motivated the students by giving them a brief introduction about Data Analytics and its application in an electronic device. The session lasted for about an hour. Resource person Mr Paul Arun started the lecture with an introduction about Data Analytics. Mr Paul Arun then explained the concepts of business analytics with various examples. He explained the concept of market basket analysis with an example. Mr Ramesh Babu explained the concept of IOT(Internet of Things). The students got an insight on Internet of Things and Data Analytics.

FEBRUARY 2017


Next Generation Cloud Technologies


On the 25th of February 2017, Mr Tarun Chinmai delivered a lecture on "Next Generation Cloud Technologies". Tarun was introduced by Harish of II year IT, AIT executive member. Tarun is currently working in Akamai Technologies, located in Chennai. He is an alumnus of our college. Previously he was with HeroTalkies as an Android developer. He is specialized in Deep Packet Inspection and Container technologies.


The Head of the Department motivated the students by giving them a brief introduction about cloud and its usage. The session lasted for about an hour. Resource person started the lecture with an introduction about Next Gen Cloud Technologies. He then explained the concepts of virtualization and its types. He explained the concept of containers and its usage in various applications . The lecture ended with a question and answer session. The students got an insight on the current technologies of the cloud.

Cyber Security as a Profession


On the 3rd of February 2017, Mr Shyam Sundar delivered a lecture on “Cyber Security as a Profession”. He was introduced by Mr Prem Kumar, III year IT 'B'. He is currently working in Ernest and Young as a Cyber Security Analyst, located in Chennai. He is an alumnus of our department. He has done projects related to Cyber Security. He is working as a white hat hacker in the company.


The Head of the Department motivated the students to take interest in Cyber Security and gave many positive points. The session lasted for about an hour. Resource person started the lecture with the topic Cyber Security as a Profession. He then explained the need of Cyber Security in the present world secnario and ended the lecture with a query session. The students got an insight on the topic of Cyber Security.

JANUARY 2017


Making the Right Choice for Career


On the 27th of January 2017, Mr.Venkatesh Yeshwanth delivered a lecture on "Making the right choice for career". He was introduced by the student Ms.R.Hemavathy, III year IT 'A'. Mr. Venkatesh Yeshwanth is a student currently pursuing his Masters in Computer Science at Miami University, located in Ohio,USA. He is an alumnus of our department. He had recently become an entrepreneur by expanding his family business in dealing with Waste Paper Recycling .


Dr N. Kumaratharan, Professor/IT motivated the students and emphasized the importance of pursuing higher studies.


The session lasted for about an hour. Beginning with, Mr Yeshwanth motivated the students to make the right decisions in choosing their career . He then explained the importance of pursuing masters degree in abroad, choosing right universities, job opportunities and provided the links to the resources that benefit the students . The students got insight on the actual procedure to pursue higher studies in abroad.

SEPTEMBER 2016


Convergence of the Physical and Digital


On the 28th of September 2016, Mr.Ramesh Chandrasekar delivered a lecture on "Convergence of the Physical and Digital". He was introduced by Mr.Sriram of II yr IT 'B'. Mr.Ramesh Chandrasekar has extensive experience in multiple areas of the industry such as automation,digitization and artificial intelligence. He is the Head of Delivery at L&T Infotech , for the Nordic geography.


The Head of the Department inspired the students to participate actively and make optimum use of these opportunities.


The session lasted for about an hour. He started by explaining how physical media is slowing being replaced by a digital infrastructure. He also gave an overview of how the IT industry will look in the next decade and suggested the students topics for research.The lecture ended with a Q&A session with the students. Mr.Sriram of II year IT 'B' delivered the vote of thanks.





SEPTEMBER 2016


National Level Technical Symposium - PROTOCOL 19e


On the 3rd of September 2016, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) conducted National Level Technical Symposium – Protocol 19e. The event was inaugurated by Ms.Sukanya Sivakumar. She delivered a talk on “Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship”. She was introduced by Ms.Uthra.V, Vice President AIT. Ms.Sukanya Sivakumar is a Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Write IT Solutions Pvt Ltd. Ms.Sukanya has over 15 years of experience in the areas of eLearning and Instructor-led training development, learning technology, Courseware Design Consulting, Strategy Marketing, and Corporate Communication.


The Head of the Department extended a hearty welcome to Mrs & Mr Sivakumar, Write IT Solutions. HOD appreciated the AIT coordinators and students effort in organizing the symposium and motivated them in their future endeavor. The lamp was lit by the chief guest followed by the talk. The session lasted for about half an hour. She spoke about the Innovation of Technology and Innovation due to technology.


Ms. Hemavathy.R, Treasurer/AIT delivered the vote of thanks. The inaugural function came to an end with the presenting of memento to the resource person by the Head of the Department.


Around 350 students from various colleges participated in the technical events organized. Techtalk, Code Blooded, Web design, Dekryp't, Ultimate Manager, CreateIcon were the technical events conducted. Mini projects were done by second year IT students and the demonstration of the projects were given by the project members.


The event came to an end with the valedictory function presided by Mr Suresha.S, General Manager, Information Services, TAFE, Simpsons Pvt Ltd. Students who won first and second prizes in technical events were awarded with cash prizes and merit certificates by the chief guest.

Guest Lecture on Evolution of Computer Architecture


On the 22nd of August 2016, Ms Janani Ambrish delivered a lecture on "Evolution of Computer Architecture". She was introduced by Ms. Hemavathy of III yr IT 'A'. She has extensive experience in multiple phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. She is well versed in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies of the Software development models. She is a key member of CISCO Chennai’s University Relations track for on boarding of fresh graduates & other new employees.


The Head of the Department inspired the students to participate actively and make optimum use of these opportunities.


The session lasted for about an hour. She started with the software architecture and explained various types of architecture with their advantages and disadvantages. She also explained the need of cloud services for microservices based application.

JULY 2016


On the 13th of July 2016, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) was inaugurated by Mr. R.Gopalakrishnan, Solution Architect.


He delivered a lecture on “Cloud Computing and Automation”. He was introduced by Ms.R.Hemavathy, III year IT 'A'. He has over 18 years of experience in design and development of software products. He has experience in Project Development, System re-engineering, Enterprise Application Development and Integration, Real time system integration, Process Automation and DevOps.


The Head of the Department motivated the students to engage the inner spark in them. The lamp was lit by the chief guest and the introduction of Office bearers was given by Ms.K.Kiruthika Devi , Staff Coordinator, AIT.


The session lasted for about an hour. Resource person started the lecture with the need for Cloud computing followed by the Automation. He then explained the market reality monitor and ended the lecture with a question and answer session. The students got an insight about Data-analytics and cloud computing.

APRIL 2016


Research issues and challenges in Ocean Technology


On the 27th of April 2016, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) was validicted by Mr. G VENKATESAN, Scientist – Energy & Fresh Water,National Institute of Ocean Technology (Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of INDIA). He delivered a lecture on “Research issues and challenges in Ocean technology”. He was introduced by Mr. V. Deepak Vishal after the prayer song by Ms. M. Niwedheethaa. Dr. G.Venkatesan is working as a Senior Scientist in National Institute of Ocean Technology, an autonomous institute of Ministry of Earth Sciences. He has more than fifteen years of experience in design, fabrication, erection, installation and commissioning of mechanical engineering system of low temperature thermal desalination system both for on shore and offshore applications.


The session lasted for about an hour. He started with the on going projects in NIOT. Then gave a brief speech on desalination process of sea water into fresh water. He then explained the present situation which is a boon for the next generation of engineers. The students got an insight about the various openings in the new sector.


Honors were given to the office bearer's by the chief guest . Ms.B.Nithya delivered the vote of thanks. The session came to an end with the presenting of memento to the resource person by Dr.D.Balasubramanian.

Corporate Banking domain in IT Finance Sector

On the 19th of March 2016, Ms. Lakshmi Priya, Team Lead, Polaris Private Ltd. delivered a lecture on “Corporate Banking domain in IT Finance Sector”. She was introduced by Ms.Hindumathy after the prayer song by Ms.Hemavathy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Sree Sasta College of Engineering, India. Over the past 5 years she has experience with multinational companies, with accomplishments in banking industry. The Head of the Information and Management System inspired the students to participate actively and make optimum use of the opportunities.

The session lasted for about an hour. She started with the analysis of the present market and the growing demand for banking strategy. This was followed by stating the impact of the role of engineers in the banking sector. She then explained the present situation which is a boon for the next generation of engineers. The students got an insight about the Engineer’s role in the Banking Industry Perspective.

FEBRUARY 2016


Role of Engineers in Manufacturing and Supply Chain – Electronics Industry Perspective

On the 19th of February 2016, Mr. Navneet Kejriwal, ICC -. Plant Director, Dell International Services India Private Ltd. delivered a lecture on “Role of Engineers in Manufacturing and Supply Chain – Electronics Industry Perspective”. He was introduced by Ms.Yogavarshini. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, India and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University, USA. Over the past 25 years he has global experience with multinational companies, with accomplishments in electronics and automobile industry – spanning Supply Chain Operations and Strategy, Manufacturing Operations and Engineering, Product Development. The Head of the Department inspired the students to participate actively and make optimum use of these opportunities.


The session lasted for an hour. He started with the analysis of the present market and the growing demand for electronic products such as personal computers and also the total share of Dell products in today’s market. This was followed by stating the impact of the role of engineers in the manufacturing sector. He then explained the present situation which is a boon for the next generation of engineers. The students got an insight about the Engineer’s role in the manufacturing and supply chain- Electronics Industry Perspective.

Cloud Computing – Open Stack


            On the 12th of November 2015, Mr Balaji Iyer delivered a lecture on "Cloud Computing – Open Stack". He was introduced by Ms. Selva Priya. He is responsible for architecting, developing and deploying cloud applications on the world's largest Openstack based Public Cloud. He has spent quite considerable amount of time with Openstack since its inception. The Head of the Information Management System asked the PG students and PhD scholars to make use of the opportunity.


The session lasted for two hours. He started with the use of cloud computing followed by the types of cloud services. He also showed the live demo and the students got an insight on cloud computing – open stack.

National Level Technical Symposium – Protocol 18e


        On the 04th of September 2015, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) conducted National Level Technical Symposium – Protocol 18e. The event was inaugurated by Ms. Anuradha Nagarajan, Group Project Manager, Infosys. She delivered  a lecture on “Future Trends in Information Technology and its Applications to various sectors”. She was introduced by Mr. Kishore.K, President AIT. Ms. Anuradha Nagarajan is a Group Project Manager in Infosys, Chennai. She is also a certified Health Care Professional. Currently she handles a large portfolio of 250+ people and toggles with multiple responsibilities such as managing large cross functional teams spanning across global locations, taking care of Business Development activities as well as driving the innovation and ideation initiatives.


    The Head of the Department appreciated the students effort in organizing the symposium and motivated them in their future endeavor.  The lamp was lit by the chief guest followed by a lecture. The session lasted for about an hour. The participants got an insight on various future trends in Information Technology like Digital Consumerism, Pervasive Computing for emerging economics, Building a more sustainable tomorrow, Future security.

AUGUST 2015


Energy harvesting, millimeter wave communications, heterogeneous networks, cognitive radio and security


        On the 28th of August 2015, Dr Maged Elkashlan, Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Electronic department, Queen Mary University of London delivered  a lecture on “Energy harvesting, millimeter wave communications, heterogeneous networks, cognitive radio and security”.  Dr Maged Elkashlan received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia,  Canada, 2006. From 2007 to 2011, he was with the Wireless and Networking Technologies Laboratory at Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), Australia. During this time, he held an adjunct appointment at the University  of Technology Sydney, Australia. In 2011, he joined the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London, UK. He also holds visiting faculty appointments at the University of New South Wales, Australia, and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China.

 

July 2015

Data analytics - Global Consumer Segmentation Model

On the 24th of July 2015, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) was inaugurated by Mrs. H. Harshana, Program Manager, R&D Ericsson, India Global Services Private Ltd. She delivered a lecture on “Data analytics - Global Consumer Segmentation Model”. She was introduced by Ms. E. Akshaya , Final year IT 'A'. Mrs. H. Harshana is an alumni of SVCE. Over the past 7 years she has worked in several path-breaking initiatives. To name a few she was involved in strategizing Mobile Remittance Brokering, worked in building a business intelligence product and Cloud computing. Currently, she manages projects for a few products in the BSS (Business Support Systems).

The session lasted for about an hour. Resource person started the lecture with the need for segmentation followed by the principles of segmentation. She then explained the market reality monitor and ended the lecture with a question and answer session. The students got an insight about Data analytics - Global Consumer Segmentation Model.

Guest Lecture on “Scope for Database Administration"

The Association of Information Technologists (AIT) organized a valedictory function with Guest Lecture on “Scope for Database Administration” by Mr. K. Anandhan, Team Lead, Sanmina. He was introduced by Ms.M. Priyanka, General Secretary, Association of Information Technologists. He has over 17 years of experience as DBA . Head of the Department asked the students to equip themselves with the new technologies to kick start their career in IT. The report of AIT activities for the academic year 2014-15 was delivered by Mr. S. Vignesh, President of AIT.

The session lasted for about an hour. He started with the basics of Database. He then explained the core responsibilities of DBA . He ended the lecture with the common database certifications that the students may obtain.

Guest Lecture on “Silent Talker - Lie Detector"

On the 12th of March 2015, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) organized a Guest Lecture on “Silent Talker - Lie Detector” by Dr.James Dominic O'Shea, Senior Lecturer,School of Computing & Digital Technology, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He was introduced by Ms. P.C. Vaishnavi of Information Technology. The session lasted for about an hour and a half. He gave an introduction about the courses offered in Manchester Metropolitan university. He elaborated the research conducted on Lie Detectors. He presented 2 case studies on lie detector. The session came to an end with a Question & Answer session. Ms. P.C. Vaishnavi delivered the vote of thanks.

Guest Lecture on “Technological advancements in networks, IT, Computer Communication"

On the 25th of February 2015, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) organized a Guest Lecture on “Technological advancements in networks, IT, Computer Communication” by Prof. Orhan Gemikonakli, , Head of Computer & Communication engineering, Middlesex University, London. He was introduced by Ms. P.C. Vaishnavi of Information Technology. Professor Gemikonakli has been actively involved in Teaching, curriculum & programme development for over 30 years. The session lasted for about an hour and a half. He gave an introduction about the courses offered in Middlesex university. He then explained the differences between pre-cellular and cellular era. . He covered the current trends in ICT in detail which included VANET, Cloud Computing, Software Defined Networks,fabric data centers and Big data. Other trends in communication like Cognitive Radio, Augmented reality were briefly touched upon by the speaker and the session came to an end with a Question & Answer session. Ms. P.C. Vaishnavi delivered the vote of thanks.



Guest Lecture on Datawarehousing & ETL concepts

On the 14th of February 2015, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) organized a Guest Lecture on “Datawarehousing & ETL concepts” by Ms. D. Lydia Catherine, Associate, Cognizant. She was introduced by Ms. S. Keya of Information Technology. She has over 7 years of experience in Data warehousing. Dr. G. Sumathi, Head-IMS & Professor of IT department inspired the students to participate actively in guest lectures and make optimum use of the opportunities.

The session lasted for about an hour. She started with the basics of Data warehousing. She explained the difference between OLTP & OLAP. She then explained the basics of Extraction, Transformation & Load concepts. She then ended the session with the assurance that there are promising job opportunities in this field. The students got an insight about the basics of data warehousing & ETL concepts.

National level technical symposium Protocol 17e

On the 18th of August 2014, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) organised the national level technical symposium Protocol 17e. It was inaugurated by Dr. Awdhesh K Singh, commissioner, IRS, LTU, Chennai. He was introduced by Ms.Madhuvanthi Sekar, Vice President of AIT. The Head of the Department inspired the students to participate actively in the symposium and make optimum use of the opportunities. The Symposium was inaugurated by the chief guest. The Principal delivered the key note address. He delivered a lecture on “The importance of e-Governance”.The session lasted for about an hour and a half. The students got an insight about the importance of E-governance. Mr. S. Vignesh, President of AIT delivered the vote of thanks. The session came to an end with the presenting of memento to the resource person by the Principal.

The Paper Presentation event “Texpo” started at 10.30 am in the function hall and spanned over a period of two hours. Cash prizes were awarded for the two best papers. The events App & Poster Designing, Round the Clock, Coding & Debugging event -”Cryptex” and mini project demonstration were conducted in parallel. The finals for the various events were organized in the Afternoon session. Around 374 students from various engineering colleges in and around chennai participated in the symposium.

The Valedictory function for the symposium was held in the function hall at 2.30 PM. The gathering was welcomed by Ms. K. Nivedhitha, Executive member of AIT. The guest of honor for the valedictory function was Prof. S. Krishnan, Dean -Academic, Department of Marine Engineering, SVCE. He was introduced by Ms. S. Priyanka, General Secretary of AIT. Prof. S. Krishnan delivered a short note on the current employability scenario in the field of Information Technology and he urged the students to equip themselves with both technical and communication skills to manage recession in the IT sector. The Cash Prizes & Certificates to the winners of the various events in Protocol 17e were handed over by the chief guest. The symposium ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. R. S. Archana, Treasurer of AIT.

 

 


Guest Lecture on Current global scenario & future leaders

On the 2nd of August 2014, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) was inaugurated by Mr. S. Ethirajan, DGM-HR, L&T. He delivered a lecture on “Current global scenario & future leaders”. He was introduced by Ms.M. Priyanka, General Secretary of AIT. He has over 25 years of experience in various fields. He has served in many important positions in various organizations including Hyundai, Flow Serve to name a few. The Head of the Department inspired the students to participate actively in guest lectures and make optimum use of the opportunities. The lamp was lit by the chief guest and the introduction of Office bearers was given by Ms. P. Leela Rani, Staff Coordinator, AIT. The session lasted for about an hour. He started with the current global scenario and the current leaders in Information Technology. He then explained the global competition prevalent in Information Technology . He also emphasized on the skill sets to be developed by the students to face the competition. He ended the lecture with a question and answer session. The students got an insight about the current global scenario in the field of Information Technology.Ms. R. S. Archana, Treasurer of AIT delivered the vote of thanks. On the 5th of July 2014, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) organized a Guest Lecture on “Introduction to theory of Complexity classes” by Dr. K. S. Easwarakumar, Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Anna University.

He has over 25 years of experience in various fields. His subjects include Data structures and algorithms, Database Technology, Computer Networks to name a few. He has authored many books in the domain “Data structures and Networking”.The Head of the Department inspired the students to participate actively in guest lectures and make optimum use of the opportunities.

The session lasted for about an hour. He started with the basics of Data structures and Theory of Finite automata. He then explained the basics of Turing machine. He ended the lecture with a question and answer session. The students got an insight about the theory of complexity classes and Turing machines.
