CONSULTANCY

  • As a Part of Continuation of MOU activity with Western Thomson India Pvt.ltd, WTI (I) ltd released an amount of Rs.30,000/- in the month of September 2016, as a additional fund, to support and coordinate research activity over the “SVCE-WTI Engine testing facility”, jointly established in the year November 2015. S.Natarajan,AP/ME, is the coordinator of this project         .  A Maruti-Ritz car was contributed by Western Thomson for the project.

 

  • Also Experts team members from WTI(I) Ltd, Mr.M.Govindarajan, Executive Director, WTI(I) Ltd and Mr. Ramachandran, Manager,WTI(I) Ltd visited the SVCE-WTI Engine testing facility at SVCE during 06-10-2016 and 18-10-2016 for further technical activity & action.

 

  • Consultancy work for NIPPON THERMOSTAT (INDIA) LIMITED in the title "Plastic Thermostat housing Structural and Fluid Flow Analysis" is under progress from 6th March, 2017

The college apart from catering to the academic needs of the students is involved in executing projects, which are sponsored by external agencies like AICTE, DST, DRDO, Tamil Nadu state council for Science and Technology, other academic institutions etc. New grants are received under various schemes of the sponsoring agencies and new research facilities are set up for undertaking research and consultancy works.

  • Mr. S Rameshbabu, Associate Professor & In-Charge/Machine, has completed consultancy research projects with the help of technical staff members, utilizing the facility of Machine shop, earning an income of around Rs. 28,000/- during 2013 -2014.

  • Dr. J. Venkatesan, Associate Professor & In-Charge/Thermal Lab, has completed many consultancy research projects with the help of technical staff members, utilizing the facility of Engine Research Centre, earning an income of around Rs. 7.80 Lakhs during 2013 -2014.

  • Thermal Engineering Lab of Department of Mechanical Engineering has received a grant of Rs. 12.0 Lakhs from AICTE under MODROBS for the year 2012-13 for an ongoing project titled "Performance, Combustion and Emission analysis of Single and Multi cylinder CI engines fuelled with diesel and bio-diesels”.

  • Dr. J. Venkatesan, Associate Professor & In-Charge/Thermal Lab, has completed many consultancy research projects with the help of technical staff members, utilizing the facility of Engine Research Centre, earning an income of around Rs. 3.0 Lakhs from Jan 2010 till June 2012.

  • Dr. R.Ramesh Prof./ME, Mr. R. Murugan & Mr. M. Prem Anath AP/ME, carried out a consultancy project titled "Design Validation of Transporting Plate Assembly" for M/S. MELSS AUTOMATION LTD., Sriperumbudur. The work was started in the month of September and completed in November 2010.

  • Mr. J. Venkatesan, Asst. Prof./ME & MR. R.Murugan AP/ME, carried out a consultancy project titled "Mathematical Modeling and Simulation of NLC2 Compressor" for WABCO-TVS (India) Ltd, Chennai. The project was estimated at Rs.1,35,000/- and completed in July 2009.

  • Mr. J. Venkatesan, Asst. Prof./ME & MR. R.Murugan AP/ME, carried out a consultancy project titled "Mathematical Modeling and Simulation of NLC1 Compressor" for WABCO-TVS (India) Ltd, Chennai. The project was estimated at Rs.1,00,000/- and completed in January 2008.

  • Mr. J. Venkatesan, SL/ME, carried out Onsite consultation for M/S Sundaram Clayton Ltd, Chennai, from 1-12-2003 to 31-05-2004, in a R&D project titled "Mathematical Modeling and Simulation of Reciprocating Air Compressor".

  • Influence of surface finish on the fatigue life of PC steel in the year 2001. A total amount of Rs.2.5 lacs was granted. Mr.R.Sundararajan. Assistant Professor/Mechanical guided the project.

  • Experiments to investigate the influence of surface finish on life of machine components in the year 2000. A total amount of Rs.2.5 lacs was granted. Mr.R.Sundararajan. Assistant Professor/Mechanical guided the project.

  • Design and fabrication of ultrasonic machining machine .The value of the project is Rs.7000. This was executed in the year 1998. Mr.R.Sundararajan. Assistant Professor/Mechanical guided the project.

  • Pump for rural irrigation without usage of electricity. The value of the project is Rs.8500. This was executed in the year 2001. Mr.R.Sundararajan. Assistant Professor/Mechanical guided the project.
