INAUGURATION OF STUDENT BIOTECH FORUM (2014-2015)

    Students Biotech Forum was inaugurated by Dr. C. Anandha Rama Krishnan, Principal Scientist, Department of Food Engineering, CSIR- CFTRI on 26 th July, 2014.  Welcome address was delivered by Dr.Sulochana Somasundaram (HOD-BT) & the presidential address was conveyed by Prof.M.Sivanandham (Director-Research). The office bearer’s of SBF was introduced by Dr.S.Prabhu (Associate Professor – BT). The forum was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief guest. The Chief guest was introduced by SBF secretary P.Ranitha and he was honored by Prof.M.Sivanandham (Director-Research) with bouquet and  memento.The chief guest delivered Technical talk on the topic “Nanoencapsulation of Bioactive compounds” . Vote of Thanks was delivered by SBF student advisor Mr.Balaji.E and the function came to an end with the National anthem.    The function was coordinated by Dr.S.Prabhu (Associate Professor – BT) & Mrs.N.Kanagam (Asst.   • Ashish Tatolu (2010-2014 Batch) B.Tech Biotechnology Student Published his experiences on conservation of Olive Ridley sea turtles in The Hindu dated on 12th Feb, 2014. He identified the maximum number of nest found in a single turtle walk.
  • Dr. Lambert Brau, Faculty of science Engineering and Built Environment, Deakin University, Australia delivered guest lecture on “Higher studies Opportunities In Australia ”on 11th February 2014 at Biotechnology Conference Hall. He took a tour around Biotechnology Department facilities and  appreciated the infrastructure available.
