• Mr.Keshav,ECE Alumnus 2021, currently working as Software Engineer at Multicoreware Inc delivered a guest lecture on ‘Career opportunities’ on 31/10/2022.
• ECE Alumni Association had successfully organized “ HACKELITE” a 24 hours inter department hackathon on 06/03/2023 and 07/03/2023.The Keynote Address was delivered by Chief Guests, Mr.Sunil Mukundan, Co- Founder &; Chief Architect at Infiot,Chennai, ECE Alumnus from 1997-2001 batch and Mr.Sashikumar.S,Founder - Rasi Infotech,Salem,ECE Alumnus from 2003-2007 batch.The students participated in the hackathon enthusiastically and worked towards producing best possible outcomes.The performance of the students were assessed by a panel of Judges from Academia and Indutry.Our Alumni, Mr.Aadhavan,(2005-2008 batch) Technical lead,Viasat India Pvt ltd,Chennai and Ms.Isharath Rehana,(2015-2019 batch)Senior Analyst,LatentView Analytics,Chennai were part of the Jury along with Mr.Sashikumar.Our Alumnus,Mr.Sandeep Kumar Ramani,(2015-2019 batch)Machine Learning Engineer,Qualcomm ,USA interacted with the participants online. • Valedictory function was conducted on 2nd May 2023.Dr.S.USHA RANI,Sr Asst Professor,VIT,Chennai delivered a guest lecture on Role of IOT in industry 4.0.
• Mr.Ahnirudh Yeshwanth Raj, Ernst and Young LLP, 2015-19 Batch ECE alumnus delivered a lecture on the “Future of SAP Careers” on 8th August 2023.

• Mr B.Nandakumar.,2017 batch ECE alumnus ,Software development Engineer,Walmart delivered a Guest Lecture on Engineering in retail industry on 20th February 2024.
• Mr.Venkatraman S,Patent Analyst, Dolcera Ites Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad, PG Alumnus, Svce (2018-2020) gave a webinar on”Brief Introduction To Conversational AI tools and their usage for academic teachers” to the faculty on 22/03/2024.
• Dr.D.Menaka,Ms.S.Kalyani and Ms.K.S.Subhashini organized the TechCrush poster presentation competition .The students were able to think innovatively, express their views boldly and be able to show their creativity through their presentations. Nearly 8 teams from 1st and 2nd year of each team consisting of 3 to 4 members have participated and displayed their 8 Posters in different ways. Student Coordinators informed the rules and regulations of the event in presence of Internal Judges. Participants are asked to display their boards in the places that were allotted to them with numbering. In the presence of Judges, student participants presented their thoughts that were displayed on their Posters. Posters were judged by the Professors and Associate Professors of the ECE department based on criteria such as innovation, relevance, clarity of presentation, and impact. The prize amount was sponsored by our department alumni.
• Dr.Murali Murugavel, (SVCE Mechanical alumnus 1995-1999 batch) Neuroscience Researcher delivered a guest lecture on "Doctor, When can I go back to Play?" on 31st July 2024 (Wednesday) at 10:00AM in the library seminar hall. The talk showcased the intersection of neuroscience, sport, computing and applied quantum physics.
• Dr.Lakshmanan Nataraj, Principal R&D Engineer,Trimble Inc, Chennai, (SVCE ECE alumnus 2003-2007 batch) delivered an expert talk on “Out of the Box Thinking in the time of AI” on 09/08/2024.
• Hackelite , a 24 hours internal Hackathon event was organized in collaboration with ECE alumni association on 30/08/2024 & 31/08/2024. The event was conducted to develop innovative solutions by the students to real-world challenges in accordance with the problem statements provided by the Smart India Hackathon,2024 (SIH). The event had 19 registered teams, 15 participant teams accounting to a total of 88 students, showcasing innovative ideas, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The event was inaugurated by ECE Alumnus from 1997-2001 batch, Mr.Siddharta Govindaraj, Founder Silver Stripe Software Pvt Ltd. Mr.Sunil Mukundan, Senior Director and Architect, Netskope, an ECE alumnus from the same batch also presided the event. The jury for evaluating the performance of teams were the internal experts and alumni members. Ms.Sowmya Venkateswaran, Design Engineering Manager, Cadence Design systems, ECE alumnus from 2005-2009 batch presided over the Valedictory event. She was joined by Mr.Karuppiah Vishal, Quality Assurance Engineer at Amazon, ECE Alumnus from 2013-2017 batch. Prize amount was sponsored by the SVCE management and Alumni. Additionally, an internship at Silver Stripe Software Pvt. Ltd was sponsored by Alumni for the I prize winning team. Prizes were distributed to the winners and the event concluded with the national anthem.
• A guest lecture on “Computer Vision and Face Recognition” was organized on 18th Oct 2024, headed by Mr. Elango Meenakshi Sundaram, ECE alumnus 1993 -1997 batch, Co-founder and CTO of FaceTagr.
• A guest lecture on “Design and Debug of Embedded Systems” was organized on 4th Nov 2024, featuring Mr. Hareesh Janakiraman, Director, Embedded Guru-LLC, as the guest speaker.
• A guest lecture was given by Mr.Adithya Muralidharan, Senior Staff Engineer, Intel Corporation, California, USA (SVCE ECE Alumnus 2007-2011 batch) on 24th Jan 2025 in the topic “Trends in Server Architecture for running AI workloads & developments in Interconnect Technologies”.
• A guest lecture on “AI-Transformers” was delivered by Mr.Sandeep Kumar R, Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Qualcomm, California, USA (SVCE ECE Alumnus 2015-2019 batch) on 4th March 2025.
• Mr. Abhinanad Ramakrishnan, Component design Engineer, INTEL corporation delivered a lecture on ASIC/SOC design flow 0n 24/08/2016.

Scholarship details

• The first batch of SVCE alumni has instituted a scholarship from the academic year 2018-19 to sponsor the tuition fee for two to four girl students from third semester till final semester based on Economic and Merit criteria. A team of 5 members of First Batch Alumni Trust visited campus on 16.11.2022 to have a meeting with all the beneficiaries. Ms. Yuvasri. A of II ECE (2021-2025) received this scholarship for the academic year 2022-2023.
• The first batch of SVCE alumni has instituted a scholarship from the academic year 2018-19 to sponsor the tuition fee for two to four girl students from third semester till final semester based on Economic and Merit criteria. Ms.Swetha.S of II year ECE C batch (2022-2026) received this scholarship for the academic year 2023-2024.
• SVCE Alumni from the 1985-89 batch have been sponsoring the tuition fees Rs.55,000 for Girl students every year.
Ms. Kiruthiga.B (170701068 ) received an amount of 55,000 during her III and IV year respectively.
Ms. Monica. R (180701068) and Ms. Vidhya. N (180701141) received an amount of 55,000 during their final years
Ms. Radha G (190701082) was given a scholarship amount of 22.500 during her III year.
• Scholarship instituted by 1994 ECE batch, awarded to 3 students on 08/01/2020 , one each from II, III and IV year ECE batch to Mr. Buvanesh. S, II Year ECE, Ms. Shivani. R, III Year ECE and Ms. Mahalakshmi. M, IV Year ECE for being the first batch of students to avail the scholarship.

Budding Bright Engineer Award Winners:

The Alumni Association presents Budding Bright Engineer Award for every academic year. The award comprises of a cash prize of Rs.2500/- (Rupees Two Thousand and Five Hundred Only) and a certificate of merit. Two second year UG students from each department are selected based on their first year academic performance and economic means. The award aims at motivating the students to maintain a consistent academic performance throughout their degree.

1. Sunshine with my solitary friend:

3. Wake up with Buddha:

A classic coffee table daily reading book! The Buddha's teachings, which are centuries old, still finds its purpose in today's world, and with the needed customisation and crafted orientation, this book is a way to live life in today's world. Running to 30 episodes (30 teachings of the Buddha), it is also provided with carefully crafted exercises at the end of each episode to practice it in our daily lives. In the end, as the Buddha said, "As a beautiful lotus amidst muddy waters, we have to become better individuals in this chaotic world", and this book helps to identify our chaotic areas and transform living, such that pain is certain and suffering is optional.
