• Students from the Department of Automobile Engineering secured First Prize at SVCE Innovates 2026 (22nd March 2026) for their project titled “Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Powered Agricultural Utility Vehicle with an Adjustable Lightweight Aluminium Chassis.” The team—Johin Gill G, Swaminath S, and Sakthivel D R—worked under the guidance of Dr. Ramanjaneyulu Kolla. The project highlights an innovative and sustainable solution for precision farming applications.
• The Department of Automobile Engineering, SVCE, is pleased to announce that an Intramural Project Grant (UG) for the Academic Year 2025–2026 has been sanctioned by the Office of the Dean (Research) to Johin Gill G, S. Swaminath, and D. R. Sakthivel. The project, titled “Design and Development of a Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Powered Agricultural Utility Vehicle,” is carried out under the guidance of Dr. Ramanjaneyulu Kolla, Assistant Professor, with a grant amount of ₹10,000/-.
• Mr. S. B. Mukunth Raj, Mr. K. Unnikrishnan, and Mr. M. R. Kaleeswaran, B.E. Automobile Engineering students, received the TAFE Best Project Award for the Academic Year 2024–2025 for their project titled “Exhaust Heat Recovery in Motorcycles for Onboard Power Generation.” The project was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Ramanjaneyulu Kolla, Assistant Professor, Department of Automobile Engineering, SVCE.
• Dr. V. Ganesh, Associate Professor and Assistant Head of the Department, along with Mr. R. Sakthivel, Mr. A. K. Boobalasenthilraj, and Dr. Ramanjaneyulu Kolla, Assistant Professors from the Department of Automobile Engineering, SVCE, have successfully secured an externally funded research project from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The project, titled “Study of Windscreen Wiping and Washing Systems and their Components,” has been sanctioned with a grant amount of ₹9.30 lakhs.

Boobalasenthilraj, Assistant Professors, Department of Automobile Engineering, have published a patent titled “Variable Diameter Driven Sprocket for Motorized Bikes” in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

Dhivakkar, Final year UG students of the Department of Automobile Engineering, received a grant through Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) for the year 2019-2020. They received a grant of Rs. 7500/- for the project titled “Design and fabrication of load adaptive braking system on a two wheeler”(EME-049). The project is mentored by Dr. V Ganesh, Associate Professor / AUT and Mr. Ramanjaneyulu Kolla, Assistant Professor / AUT.
