- Mr. Kishore M, IV year ECE, from the SIH team Hexabyte mentored by me was shortlisted to participate in the International level 36-hour UNESCO India–Africa Hackathon 2022 held on November 23 and 24, 2022 at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida. The team, consisting of 2 Indians and 3 Africans, emerged as the winner for the problem statement “Design a Decision Support Tool for Electric Vehicle Adoption” and was awarded Rs. 3 lakh as prize money.
- Was awarded the “Star Performer Award” by the Management of SVCE during Teachers’ Day on September 5, 2023.
- Received an intramural grant of Rs. 10,000 for the UG project titled “3D Reconstruction of Heritage Sites from Images using Soft Edge Enhanced Deep Learning” during the even semester of the academic year 2023–24.
- Successfully organised four editions of a 24-hour National Level Hackathon – HACKERRUPT under the Association of Computer Engineers at GUVI Geek Networks Pvt. Ltd., IITM Research Park, Chennai (2020, 2022, 2024) and at Codework Private Limited, Navalur (2026) held on March 14–15, 2020; October 8–9, 2022; April 28–29, 2024; and January 31 – February 1, 2026. The hackathon was organised with full sponsorship from various companies and research labs, with participation from students across engineering colleges in India and judging by industry experts and alumni.
- Presented a conference paper along with Sahitya A, Srilekha P and Mithun S and received the Best Paper Award for the paper titled “Real-Time Abnormal Activity Detection in Psychiatric Care Using Hybrid 3D CNN-LSTM and Identity Tracking” in ICICRCET’25 – 1st International Conference on Innovative Computing Research and Cutting Edge Technologies in Computer Science, organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SVCE, held on March 28, 2025.

The project was appreciated by the Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Texas, Dallas when Kirutika.T got admission to the university and she was given an opportunity to receive a scholarship before joining.
- Project titled “Smart Solid Waste Monitoring and Management using Internet of Things” was done by Mohanavel.S, Sagar AP and Santhosh.A of the 2010–14 batch. This project was co-guided by Mr. Balaji Krishnan, Network Development Principal Engineer, DELL Networking, Chennai.
- Project titled “Elliptic Fourier Descriptor Based Image Analysis” was done by Sathiya Subramanian.V, Shanmugarajan.M and Yeshwanth Raja of the 2011–15 batch. This project was co-guided by Dr. Srinivasan Rajagopalan, Principal Innovator, Mayo Clinic, USA.
- Project titled “Graph Cut and Relative Fuzzy Connectedness for Image Segmentation” was done by Arjun Siva.G, Divakar.K and Janarthanan.K of the 2011–15 batch. This project was co-guided by Dr. Srinivasan Rajagopalan, Principal Innovator, Mayo Clinic, USA.
- Project titled “Unconstrained Face Detection and Recognition with Unsupervised Clustering” was done by Arun.N, Arjhun Srinivas and Divakar Manoj C.S of the 2012–16 batch. This project was part of the product being developed at the startup Fadstreet proposed to be incubated at IIT Madras. This project was also nominated for the INAE award from the department.
- Project titled “Detection of Coronary Artery Disease and Sentiment Analysis of Electronic Health Records” was done by Parvathi Thampi, Poojitha Nag and Raajashri Ramesh of the 2012–16 batch. This project idea was presented as a poster at a competition at Sairam Engineering College and was selected as one of the top 5 ideas.
- Project titled “Regulation of Traffic by Controlling Signals and Traffic Monitoring using IoT” was done by M. Adithya, M. Venkatachalam and S. Shreeharan of the 2013–17 batch. The initial work of this project was presented at the ADCOM conference held at Bangalore in 2015.
- Mentored a project titled “Solving Sudoku using Computer Vision and Hamiltonian Cycle” by Arvind P.G., Akshaya Sai V. and Ganesh Adithya V. for SVCE Innovates – Student Research Day 2017 at SVCE, and the team secured first place.

- Mentored a team of 3 students and the team won third place in SVCE Innovates 2019 for the project titled “Voice Based Email for the Visually Challenged”.
- Mentored a team of 4 students and the team won second place in SVCE Innovates 2024 for the project titled “Smart Parking”.
- Mentored a team of 3 students and received an intramural grant of Rs. 10,000 for the project titled “3D Reconstruction of Heritage Sites from Images using Soft Edge Enhanced Deep Learning” during the even semester of 2023–24.
- Mentored a team of 4 students and the team won second place in Students Research Day – SVCE Innovates 2025 held on 28-03-2025.

- Mentored a team of 3 students for Niral Thiruvizha 2.0, a Tamil Nadu Government initiative for final year UG student projects. The team secured 4th place out of more than 15,000 teams across Tamil Nadu and presented the idea to the Honourable Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
- Guided a project titled “Regulation Of Traffic by Controlling Signals and Traffic Monitoring using IOT” was done by M.Adithya, M.Venkatachalam and S.Shreeharan of the 2013- 17 batch. This Project’s initial work was presented at the ADCOM conference held at Bangalore in 2015.
- Guided a Project titled “Detection of Coronary Artery Disease and Sentiment Analysis of Electronic Health Records” by Parvathi Thampi, Poojitha Nag and Raajashri Ramesh of the 2012-16 batch. This project idea was presented as a poster at a competition at Sairam Engineering College and was selected as one of the top 5 ideas in the competition.
- Mentored a project titled “ Solving Sudoku using Computer Vision and Hamiltonian Cycle” by Arvind.P.G., Akshaya Sai.V and Ganesh Adithya.V for SVCE Innovates -Student Research Day 2017 at SVCE and the team secured first place.

- Mentored a team of 4 students and the team won the Best Innovation Award in the finale of the national-level hackathon SAACHACK’18, organised by Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology, Chennai on July 27 and 28, 2018.

- Mentored a team of 6 students and the team won first place with a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 in the Smart India Hackathon 2020 for the problem titled “Midday Meal Analytics” given by CISCO DevNet, conducted online by AICTE at the nodal centre REVA University, Bengaluru, from 1st to 3rd August 2020.

- Mentored a team of 6 students and the team secured second place with a cash prize of Rs. 7,000 in the 24-hour Make-a-thon 4.0 conducted by the Department of ECE, SVCE on 31-03-2023 and 01-04-2023.
- Mentored a team of 4 students in the third edition of the iCUBE Hackathon held on 16th and 17th February 2024.
- Mentored 8 teams for the internal hackathon of Smart India Hackathon 2023 held during September 2023.
- Mentored a team of 6 students and the team won first place with a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 in the Smart India Hackathon 2024 for the problem titled “Software solutions to identify users behind Telegram, WhatsApp and Instagram based drug trafficking” given by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), conducted by AICTE at the nodal centre Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 11th to 12th December 2024.
- Mentored a team of 4 students in the fourth edition of the iCUBE Hackathon and the team secured second place in iCUBE 4.0 — a 24-hour national-level intercollegiate hackathon held on February 7 and 8, 2025, conducted by the SVCE Science Club.
- Mentored 2 teams in collaboration with MAC Nursing College, Chennai, for the first Healthcare Hackathon – Aakam Shine Healthcare Hackathon, and the teams were selected among the top 150 teams across Tamil Nadu for the presentation round at St. Peter’s Medical College, Hosur on 08-09-2025.
