Protocol 21e

                     On the 13th of October 2018, the Association of Information Technologists (AIT) conducted A National Level Technical Symposium – Protocol 21e. The event was inaugurated by, Mrs.Anuradha Nagarajan, Principal Consultant in the Data Analytics Area in Infosys, Chennai . Mrs.Anuradha Nagarajan has over 18 years of Work Experience in the field of Information Technology. She is a senior member of the  Data Analytics  Competency Center which works on multiple Data Science related Initiatives within Infosys. Having been part of more than 50+ projects, she has done diverse roles such as Consultant, Technocrat, Manager, Data Analyst and Process Analyst at different points in time.

She delivered a technical talk on “Latest Trends, Technologies and their applications”. The prayer song was rendered by Kaaviya Baskaran and Deepikha.K of II year/IT. The welcome address was delivered by M.Abdullah, President,AIT. The lighting of Kuthuvilakku was done by the Chief guest for the day. The department report was read out by Dr.V.Vidhya, Head of the Department i/c, Information Technology. The video of the Protocol 21e was launched. The magazine of Information Technology department called “Horizon” was launched at the Inaugural function. Ms.K.Kiruthika Devi,AIT coordinator introduced the Chief guest for the Inaugural function.      

Mrs.Anuradha Nagarajan initiated the talk by giving a brief overview on emerging technologies such as Block chain, Cryptocurrency and Automated cars. She explained the idea of automated grocery stores by providing an example of AmazonGo.  In addition, she discussed about the future of Chatbots and Robots in the Health Care industry. She spoke on how Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality(VR) are giving a facelift to Tourism and Sports. Finally, she explained about the lopsided aspects of Technologies. She concluded her guest lecture with an interactive Q&A session with the audience.      

The Chief guest was presented with a memento by the Dr.V.Vidhya, Head of the Department i/c, Information Technology. The Inaugural function came to an end with the vote of thanks rendered by Ramya Ranganathan, Vice-President, AIT.    

Around 120 students from various colleges participated in the technical events. Stark Expo (paper presentation), Titan's Hunt(Technical hunt), Infinity Quest(quiz-up), Capsize Tweek(Reverse coding), Webonix(Web development), Deadlock(Safe and sound), Apps Gard(UI Development), Stranger Memes(Technical memes creation), Mini Project and Mega Event were the technical events organized in the symposium. Mini projects were done by first and second year IT students and the demonstration of the projects was given by the project members.


The event came to an end with the Valedictory function presided by   Dr.S.Ramesh Babu, Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering, SVCE. He appreciated the Department Head in-charge, AIT Coordinators, Faculty members and students for making Protocol 21e a grand success. He spoke about the interrelation between the various departments. He spoke on the importance of Bigdata,Cloud Computing and IOT. He insisted on the need for the development of the required skill sets to avail placement opportunities. He also suggested on the development of more startup companies among students. Students who won first and second prizes in technical events were awarded with cash prizes and merit certificates by the chief guest Dr.S.Ramesh Babu and Dr.V.Vidhya i/c, Department of Information Technology. Kaaviya Baskaran, Executive member, AIT delivered the vote of thanks. Chief Guest was felicitated with a memento by the Head of the Department.
