Activities of the Association: 2020 - 21
Inauguration of Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (AEEE) for the AY 2020 – 2021
The inaugural event of Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (AEEE) for the academic year 2020 – 2021, was held on 19th September 2020. The event was organized virtually through Google Meet at 11.00 A.M and it lasted for an hour. There were about 150 participants in the meeting.
The event instigated with welcome address and soothing prayer song. Following this, a speech was delivered by Dr. KR. Santha, Vice Principal, Prof. & HOD/EEE who inspired the participants by sharing her 25 years of experience at SVCE and also welcomed the chief guest Mr.Vivian Gonsalves, Marketing Manager, Marico Limited who presented a motivating speech. The AEEE coordinators announced the elected members of AEEE 2020.
Guest lecture on ‘Building a Data Centre Network’
The guest lecture on ‘Building a Data Centre Network’ was presented by Mr. Balasubramanian V S, Senior Analyst, IT Network Development, DELL Technologies based Massachusetts, our alumni, which was held on 26th September 2020. The event was conducted virtually through Google meet. The event started at 6:30 PM and last for 1.5 hours holding about 80 participants which included students as well as faculty members.
The three prerequisites for building a data centre network are knowledge about IP addressing and subnets, switches and finally the routers. He provided prolific explanations on IP addressing and Switches which was really engrossing for the participants. After the prerequisites explanation he continued with Data Centre Topology and Packet flow in a data centre.
The session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. KR Santha, Vice Principal, Prof. & HOD/EEE.
Guest lecture on “Career guidance And Prospects Post EEE”
On 3rd October 2020, Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of SVCE, had organized a guest lecture on “Career guidance And Prospects Post EEE” by Mr. Adithiya Sreenivasan Nagarajan. It was an intra-department event. Due to pandemic situation, this event was conducted virtually through Google meet and it started at 5 p.m and lasted for one hour. 75 students participated in this guest lecture.
The guest Mr. Adithiya Sreenivasan Nagarajan is a Senior manager - Projects - South Asia at KEC International Ltd and is an alumni of SVCE. The event started with a warm welcome address by Dr.KR.Santha, Vice Principal, Prof. &, HOD/EEE.
The guest lecture revolved around 5 important questions that everyone asks to themselves before graduating UG. He listed all of them and gave a detailed explanation for each and every question. He asked everyone to first evaluate themselves by knowing their strengths, weakness, likes and dislikes. The event came to an end with vote of thanks.
Guest lecture on "My Experiences in Everything between Magnificent Industrial Robots to Minuscule Low-Power Embedded Internet of Things"
On behalf of the Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (AEEE), Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering a guest lecture was organized online on 15/10/2020 (Thursday) from 5.00 PM to 6.00PM. 52 students were present in the online event. The event started with a warm welcome address by Dr.KR.Santha, Vice Principal, Prof. &, HOD/EEE.
The guest speaker Mr. Vijay Karthick Baskar, Embedded System Engineer, Dover Corp., Internet of Things, also our alumni, presented a lecture on the topic "My Experiences in Everything between Magnificent Industrial Robots to Minuscule Low-Power Embedded Internet of Things".
The lecture motivated the students to take up projects in industrial automation domain. The event came to an end with vote of thanks.
Webinar on “Growth Marketing and Product Management”
The webinar on “Growth Marketing and Product Management” by Mr. Amit Singh was held on 16th January 2021. The event was conducted virtually through Google meet medium. The event started at 10:00 a.m and lasted for an hour holding about 90 participants which included students as well as faculty members.
The speaker explained how the various e-commerce payment systems and financial technology companies attract users. He also gave the participants great insights on digital payments and marketing.
The session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sudhakar K Bharatan, Professor of EEE department.
